Business Acquisitions in the Environmental & Water Treatment Business.

Effective March 1st, 2014 Permelec Electrode Ltd. will take over from Chlorine Engineers Co., Ltd. (1-chome, Nihonbashi Kayaba-cho,
Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President, Shinji Katayama; hereinafter "CEC") its environmental water (EW) treatment, electrolyzer manufacturer and repair, and electrode research and development concerns, as detailed in the attachments below. After this date CEC, a 100% subsidiary of De Nora, will focus on chlor-alkali licencing business.

Established in 1973 by Mitsui Co., Ltd. CEC has made considerable achievements as a Licensor of electrolysis plants, both in Japan and overseas, establishing itself as a world leader both in chlor-alkali technologies and in water treatment and environmentally friendly processes.

This operation represents the first important milestone of Industrie De Nora strategy (*) to strengthen Permelec focus on core activities related to electrode business and steering Permelec becoming "a green company that contributes to communities in harmony with the environment" as declared in its management policy.

Mr. Daigoro Senoo, President of PEL commented the take over "Combining CEC's experiences resources and technologies and creating new synergies with ours, we will better respond to the increasing demand of environmentally friendly technologies. This enlargement of Permelec's product portfolio with new value-added products, will be beneficial for all our customers looking for new technologies.
